It has been many, many years since I read the Narnia series. I can barely even remember them, but that didn't manage to stop my excitement when I first learned they were re-making the movies. I always go into these movies with slight apprehension, and a lot of excitement, as I want them to be as wonderful a journey as I remember the books to be - and the first movie didn't disappoint me at all. It was enchanting and beautiful, and everything I always imagined it to be.
On Sunday my friend Julie gave me tickets to see the advance screening of Prince Caspian. How amazing! I was definitely jumping up and down in anticipation, and last night was the night!
The costumes are outstanding, the set breathtaking, and the characters stand out as individuals. The villains make you hate them, and you find yourself cheering for the good guys, as every good movie should. At some times the movie seems to move too fast - and yet when you emerge three hours later, it doesn't feel like much more than an hour or so has past. My favourite new character had to be the little mouse knight, he is so cute and chivalrous! My least favourite moment had to be the retard bear. If you see the movie - you'll know it when you see it. It had everyone in the theatre laughing for his brief few second appearance.
My few beefs I have with the story line (More Azland!) might be the reasoning that the book dictates there couldn't be more of our Gandalf-like lion, Azland. This has spurned an overwhelming urge to re-read the entire series, and I will be starting on that shortly!
My overall opinion is that everyone should see it in theatres. It's fantastic. I give it 4 out of 5 stars!

De! I hate you! Why didn't you bring me to watch it too! I'm reading the series now, finally got to Prince Caspian (after the preceding 3 books..) reepicheek wasn't it? Anyway, i'm looking forward to seeing Liam Neelson-Jebus-Aslan :)
It seems like everyone is reading the series right now! That's awesome, because then there will people I can discuss the books with once I finish the Golden Compass..
Aww! Sorry! I'll remember for next time. Are you going to see it on Friday?
